“Silk Road E-commerce” Driving Collaboration: Embarking on a New Chapter with Determination– Pudong New Area Commission of Commerce and Pudong Chamber of International Commerce Visited Shanghai Business School for Exchanges and Cooperation.

On March 15, Lu Qixing (Deputy Director of Pudong New Area Commission of Commerce), Lin Shuya (Secretary General of Pudong International Chamber of Commerce), and the delegation visited Shanghai Business School (SBS). They were warmly received by Zhang Shaohua (Vice President of SBS) and Chen Wei [Secretary of the Party Branch of the College of International Education, Vice Executive Dean of the College, and Deputy Director of the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai)]. The three parties conducted in-depth discussions on the cooperation of Silk Road E-commerce.

Mr. Zhang Shaohua delivered a warm welcome, introducing SBS to the school history, key-discipline advantages, and the construction of the Caobao Road Campus. He shared that SBS carries out determinations to build characterized digital business studies in the era of digitization, develop traditionally advantageous disciplines with digit features, further enhance the scientific research also social service capacity, and thus contribute to the construction of the Silk Road E-commerce Cooperation Pilot Zone.

Lu Qixing introduced the construction and development goals of the Silk Road E-commerce Cooperation Pilot Zone in Pudong New Area, stating that the Zone aims to serve the national strategy of Silk Road E-Commerce infrastructure, and found an international alliance of think tank studies and training base. To integrate resources, it carries out investment work and builds a convening platform with various marketplaces. It also establishes featured industrial zones to attract more entrepreneurial innovative projects. Therefore the Pilot Zone surely enhances Shanghai’s global influence and competitiveness in the field of e-commerce.

Chen Wei introduced the foreign aid training work carried out by the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) and put forward the cooperation ideas of combining Silk Road E-commerce with the foreign aid work during the year, including the establishment of the Silk Road E-commerce training center, the construction of the curriculum system, the promotion of international exchange and cooperation, the development of think tank studies, and forging the talent personnel. He emphasized that foreign aid training is a platform to better serve head-of-state diplomacy and promote bilateral, multilateral economic, and trade cooperation.

At the meeting, the three parties discussed SBS joining the team of Silk Road E-commerce training center, platform cooperation with the Pudong International Chamber of Commerce, school-enterprise cooperation, and cooperation in international student training, etc., and also preliminarily set up a plan for following cooperation.
