In order to further improve the enrollment of foreign students at our school in 2024, a meeting of the Leading Group for Foreign Student Enrollment at Shanghai Business School was held on March 20th, 2024 in Room 703 of the Fengpu Campus. Principal Wu Zhong attended the meeting, which was chaired by Chen Wei, Vice Dean of the College of International Education. Members of our school’s leadership group for foreign student enrollment and staff from the International Student Office attended the meeting.
Firstly, Dai Ying, Vice Dean of the College of International Education, summarized the enrollment of foreign students at our school in 2023. The overall enrollment of foreign students for the year 2023 remained stable, with a total of 112 undergraduate and 1 postgraduate students completed. The enrollment work has made some progress compared with the previous year. In addition, a notice was issued regarding the enrollment plan for foreign students in 2024, and specific enrollment arrangements and steps for the next stage were clarified.
During the work exchange session, the attendees had a thorough exchange on the number of international students recruited and talent cultivation issues. Principal Wu pointed out that international student education is one of the important indicators of school internationalization, and relevant colleges should closely cooperate to implement the tasks of international student enrollment, education, and training. The College of International Education should not only help our school improve its internationalization, but also further strengthen cooperation with various colleges, allocate resources reasonably, and provide corresponding incentive measures for teachers responsible for teaching international students, jointly ensuring the quality of teaching.
Finally, the attendees reviewed and voted unanimously on the 2024 enrollment plan for international students.
This meeting established a smooth communication platform, analyzed and summarized the 2023 international student enrollment work, approved the 2024 international student enrollment plan, clarified the key points of the 2024 international student enrollment work and the direction of the next stage. This meeting contributes to improving the overall quality of our school’s student recruitment, enhancing the quality of international student education, and promoting the internationalization process of our school.
